We all know the best way to celebrate America’s independence from those darn Brits is by eating hot dogs, watching fireworks and singing your favorite patriotic songs at the top of your lungs. The only question is where to do it.
July 4th, 2018, in the Denver Metro region offers a plethora of options for the Star-Spangle inclined, with numerous events happening across the Denver South area. The only problem will be figuring out how to clone yourself so you can attend all of them.
Here’s what to do on July 4th this year if you’ll be in Denver South:
Littleton

Littleton residents will have ample opportunities to celebrate the Fourth, kicking off with the Red, White & You celebration on July 3.
Held at Clement Park, admission is free — although if you want to hit up one of the many food stalls or visit the beer garden, you should bring some cash.
The fun starts at 5:00 p.m., featuring music, community exhibitor booths and other ticketed activities for kids (again, costs some extra mula, so bring it along). And of course, it all culminates with a fireworks show, which is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m.
Just remember to leave the dogs at home. For everyone’s safety, including Fido’s, no pets allowed.
Englewood
Englewood and Littleton will be teaming up this year to bring Denver South residents the 2018 4th of July Festival and Fireworks. Littleton residents will get a chance to check out a second big event, and Englewood residents have a short trip down to Cornerstone and Belleview Parks to get in on the action.
Kids activities, food trucks and live music get going early, starting at 3 p.m. on July 4. Don’t miss Denver’s own Dragondeer, hitting the stage at Cornerstone Park at 7 p.m.
Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. But leave the sparklers and beer at home this time: as a family event, police will be cracking down on violators.
Highlands Ranch
Hit up the huge celebrate on July 4 at Highland Heritage Regional Park. You know they’re not messing around when there’s a hot-dog eating contest (starts at 5:30 p.m., sign up by 5:00).
The event kicks off at 4 p.m., featuring free live music all the way up until the fireworks at 9:30, with the soccer fields and park amphitheater recommended as the best viewing spots.
Food trucks will be accepting cash and credit, and there will be beer served onsite for $5 each. If the kids just can’t get enough, there will even be unlimited activity wristbands for $20, so they can get all the face painting and balloon animals their little hearts desire.
Parker

The Town of Parker will be throwing a July 4 party at Salisbury Park, complete with a big fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.
Before the fireworks, take advantage of free face painting and bouncy houses, plus other fun activities (tot train!) for low cost. Be sure to bring your blankets and lawn chairs and settle in for an evening of fun, starting at 6 p.m.
Parker’s Stars and Stripes Celebration is free, but if you’re parking on site keep in mind it’s $10 per car.
July 4th, 2018, in Denver South is definitely going to be a good time. No matter where you are, you’ll be close to an Independence Day celebration. So, will someone get on that whole cloning thing already?
