Created to strengthen the leadership capacity of Denver South primary employers, the Leadership Academy delivers an organizational leadership program for new and emerging leaders/front line managers. Participants will develop the skills and self-awareness needed to lead themselves well, and lead others effectively. As a result, they will contribute to a more cohesive, high-performing, and resilient organization.
Our program is grounded in adult learning theory and built for working professionals, with right-sized sessions, immediate application, co-created learning, and reflection that drives behavior change.
Recommended For:
- Emerging leaders/front line managers in their role less than 2 years
- In some cases, managers, in their role longer than 2 years, but struggling
Program details
Supported by the science of impactful adult learning, the Leadership Academy is grounded in three core principles:
- Prime & Prepare: Participants begin by building self-awareness, clarifying their leadership identity, and setting goals for the experience. Pre-work and onboarding activities spark curiosity, establish expectations, and prepare the cohort for meaningful engagement.

- Cohort launch with faculty introductions, program objectives, and expectations
- Learn & Transform: Through immersive, applied learning experiences, participants build practical leadership skills and expand how they lead and work with others. Experiential sessions bring concepts to life and deepen insight through practice and reflection.

Format
- 9 weeks: Cohort 1 begins April 23rd through June 18th
- Hybrid: in-person classes at Denver South offices alongside online synchronous sessions
- This program design blends immersive, high-impact in-person sessions with structured, synchronous, online integration sessions that support ongoing application in participants’ roles. This approach ensures learning is immediately relevant, and that employers see impact throughout the program, not just at its conclusion.
- Limited to 15 participants per session, industry agnostic
- Certificate of completion and University of Denver micro-credential issued at end of the program

Instructors
Denver South has partnered with University of Denver Executive Education to bring a balanced team of faculty and instructional design experts who specialize in adult learning for working professionals. Paired with Denver South’s robust knowledge of industry, opportunities, and the collaborative business environment, this combination ensures that sessions are intellectually rigorous, highly engaging, and immediately applicable for new or emerging leaders across Denver South’s multi-organization cohort.
- Seasoned instructors and industry practitioners bring deep subject-matter expertise and executive-level experience.
- Sessions emphasize scenario-based discussion, real-case challenges, action learning, and reflection so participants leave with tools they can use right away.
- Faculty are intentionally selected for their ability to create psychologically safe, inclusive, energizing environments and to facilitate cross-industry dialogue that builds a shared leadership language across Denver South employers.
Cost
9-week session with a mix of in-person and synchronous online sessions – $5,000
**SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY**
For Pilot Program Cohorts (Session beginning April 23rd): $2,500
- This first session will be subsidized $2,500 by Denver South for each registrant in return for participant and supervisor feedback, experience quotes, and marketing testimonials* For more details or questions, contact Julie
