“Today is the perfect day to venture beyond your comfort zone and discover the hidden gems within your community. Let curiosity guide your path to success.” – Abraham Lincoln
Honest Abe may not have really said that, but we think it’s true and – honestly (see what we did there) – Bike to Work Day is always a blast for us at Denver South! Although it requires extensive planning and hard work, we always enjoy meeting our friends and neighbors along the bike paths and streets of the region.
Bike to Work Day gives us a unique opportunity to showcase a different aspect of Denver South’s “live-work-play” personality. Our dedicated staff helped co-host three distinct breakfast stations to connect with cyclists, where they distributed branded swag and delicious refreshments to fuel morning commuters.

Denver South’s Three Bike to Work Day Breakfast Stations
C-470 Trail Station: Partnership with Local Organizations
One of our station mainstays is located on one of the busiest cycling thoroughfares in the Denver metro region – the C-470 trail. This popular station was organized in partnership with South Suburban Parks and Recreation and the City of Lone Tree.
Station highlights included Wafflerita and their unique waffles on a stick, plus fresh coffee from Tall Tales Ranch – an incredible Denver South-based nonprofit that is building a supportive community for individuals who are neurodiverse and have special needs.
Arapahoe/Village Center Station: Featuring New Local Restaurants
We also partnered with the City of Greenwood Village, Charter Communications, and RTD to host a breakfast station at the Arapahoe/Village Center.
This station featured two exciting new restaurants in Denver South: DTC Nutrition, which served delicious smoothies, and Just BE Kitchen, a gluten-free and allergy-friendly restaurant. It was particularly exciting to see so many cyclists utilizing RTD light rail as part of their multimodal Bike to Work Day journey!
Centennial Station: Supporting Long-Time Cycling Community Partners
Our final station was co-hosted with Arapahoe County Open Space and the City of Centennial. This location featured fantastic food from Flippin’ Flap Jacks – a Centennial-based, perennial favorite that has been supporting Colorado cyclists for years at major events including the Triple Bypass and Ride the Rockies.
The Impact of Bike to Work Day on Denver South
As we reflect on the successful event, Evan, our Transportation Outreach Manager and in-house bike expert, perfectly summarized the day’s significance: “Cycling is both good for our environment and our economy. By biking to work, you can improve your health, connect with your community and contribute positively to your local economy. Enjoy the ride!”
The annual Bike to Work Day continues to demonstrate Denver South’s commitment to sustainable transportation, community engagement, and supporting local businesses. The event showcases how cycling infrastructure and community partnerships create opportunities for residents to explore alternative commuting options while discovering local gems.
