A recent panel hosted by Colorado-based venture capital firm Access Venture Partners discussed how a range of VCs perceive investing in the Colorado startup ecosystem, how the landscape has changed & where it is headed.
The panel was kicked off by Governor Polis and included a conversation between Amy Cheetham of Costanoa Ventures, Colin Barclay of Delta-v Capital, and Kirk Holland of Access Ventures, all moderated by Nick Greenhalgh of Denver Business Journal & American Inno.
Access Venture Partners also put together a report on Venture Capital in Colorado, looking at 2020 trends and numbers. With $2.21B in VC funding, 451 venture deals, and 117 exits, Colorado’s startup ecosystem showed strength in 2020. Advanced industry expertise and outside investment helped Colorado rank top 10 in national VC funding.
Angel investing continued to be very important to the overall venture capital funding landscape in Colorado, with 25% of deals, or 111 deals, being angel deals.
