We are a community, working together to build and improve our neighborhoods, businesses, and livelihoods. In the arena of transportation, we are together making progress toward our goals of reduced traffic congestion, which in turn has a positive impact on our environment.
As we exit the pandemic and return to our offices and daily routines, more cars are on the road. With our community partners, we want to spread awareness as far and as wide as possible in Denver South to ensure the 240,000 employees in the region—in addition to Denver South residents—have knowledge of, and access to, the transportation options available. Sheryl and the Transportation team have spearheaded our efforts to convene our partners to identify effective transportation solutions, and to raise awareness of these options within the Denver South community. These solutions will help to combat our compromised air quality and congestion, while endeavoring to reach this stated goal.
One important way we are partnering with our community this summer is through a series of Community/RTD Celebrations. These events are all about our Denver South community, giving us an opportunity to celebrate the summer while showcasing key transportation partners in the region. At each party we have been able to showcase numerous transportation options and initiatives in the region, from Bustang and Commute with Enterprise to the Lone Tree Link, on-demand scooters, and FlexRide. Many residents and commuters are not familiar with the wide range of transit options available in Denver South, and these celebrations provide our team an opportunity to highlight the work being done to reduce traffic and congestion while welcoming employees back to the office, and embracing those that remained working through the Pandemic. Together we celebrate riders, residents and new initiatives that are improving transportation access and efficiency throughout the community.
