Last week we held our Annual Reception, returning live and in-person for the first time in two years. It was great to be back, meeting face-to-face and enjoying the energy that only an in-person event can offer!
Over 300 attendees were treated to the new Denver South Overview Video, and got a glimpse from CEO Tom Brook on how we collaborate with our partners, business community, and jurisdictions to grow economic opportunity and build one of the best business climates in the nation. Our attendees and sponsors were a snapshot of the inspiring people and dynamic companies that have helped make Denver South a great place to live, work and play together.
Mike Massimino, former NASA Astronaut and our keynote speaker, leveraged his personal experience to share why collaboration, problem solving, and resilience are critical components of any successful team and organization. Mike shared stories of his training, complicated space walks, and sending the first tweet from space. Woven throughout were lessons on teamwork, the importance of trust and relationship-building, and the importance of perseverance that he learned from his 18-year career with NASA. Mike’s entertaining and uplifting keynote was right on point for the crowd and the spirit of the evening.
After Mike spoke, we had the opportunity to connect with our colleagues, new friends, and others at the reception. This was a highlight, as many re-connected with colleagues and the community, and was a great way to cap of our fun and successful Annual Reception this year. We’re already looking forward to our next chance to meet live and in person!
