Even throughout the COVID-19 health emergency, Denver South’s desirability as a destination for business relocation and growth has remained a constant. Just last week, we announced that DCP Midstream, #413 on the Fortune 500 list, would relocate its headquarters to Denver South.
Whether it’s for firms chasing a workforce that was moving away from denser coastal cities or for those seeking room to breathe within a quick walk to light rail and downtown; Denver South’s balance of big city amenities and small-town charm has proven desirable.
One primary reason: a remarkable diversity of built environments. Through thoughtful, intentional community development over the course of decades, the Denver South region offers something for nearly every office user. With 48M square feet of existing office space, plus more than 3.5M more under construction or in planning, the Denver South region offers businesses unsurpassed variety in office settings.
These new spaces range from low-density, low-rise office blocks to state-of-the-art towers and flexible co-working spaces. Beyond merely a diversity of building types, these facilities also range in setting from walkable urban mixed-use Transit Oriented Developments (TODs) with proximity to retail and recreation, to bucolic suburban corporate campuses with ample parking and on-site amenities.
Sierra Nevada Corporation recently purchased the campus formerly occupied by Western Union, who moved a few miles across Denver South to locate in the One Belleview Station TOD area. They’ll be neighbors with Fortune 500 headquarters, Newmont Mining, and the new Vectra Bank headquarters. Further down the road (and light rail line) global construction and engineering giant Kiewit recently topped off its new regional headquarters building.
