When Park Meadows opened in August 1996, it was Colorado’s largest enclosed regional shopping center and first retail resort. Park Meadows wanted to provide a space where customers could not only shop and run errands but also enjoy their downtime – spend a mini vacation at this retail resort. In the 25 years that Park Meadows has been open, it has seen plenty of change across Denver South. Now, it is still Colorado’s only retail resort and largest enclosed shopping center, with 185 stores and restaurants, welcoming customers from all over the state and country seven days a week.
Park Meadows works tirelessly to prioritize the local economy and the good of its community. Together with its tenants, contractors, and vendors, the retail resort employs nearly 4,500 people from around the community. It also showcases Colorado artists throughout the complex.
In addition to its roles as an employer and local ambassador, Park Meadows has added value to the wider community from day one. Over the past 25 years, it has contributed more than $500,000 to charities and events such as the Food Bank of the Rockies Coin Donation Bucket program, which provides food and supplies to more than 600 hunger-relief programs across northern Colorado. It has also partnered with dining tenants to support The Lone Tree Feeds initiative to send meals to first responders and supports the annual City of Lone Tree Police Department Awards Luncheon to honor local police officers. One of the ways it is celebrating its anniversary is to plant new trees around Park Meadows and donate $2,500 to reforest areas ravaged by fire.
Mayor of Lone Tree Jackie Millet shared what she believes Park Meadows means to the City. “The Park Meadows Retail Resort put the City of Lone Tree on the map quite frankly. As we’ve grown, we’ve become known for other things, but when we were an infant city about 25 years ago, all we had to say was, ‘do you know where Park Meadows is’, that’s where the City of Lone Tree is. I think the way we’ve grown together in a very collaborative nature is mutually supportive. We have certainly benefited from the excellence in retail and dining that Park Meadows has brought to the City of Lone Tree. We hope they have also benefited from the high quality of services and the aesthetics of the community. I could not be more thrilled to honor them as they celebrate their 25 years, all while looking like they just opened their doors yesterday.”’
