The state of Colorado is committed to investing in its labor force and building the workforce of the future. The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade and the Colorado Community College System have partnered to provide companies with funds to train their current workforce and new hires. The $4.5 million dollar program provides two types of grants.
Colorado First (CF) funds The Colorado First grant funds focus on customized training for net new full-time, permanent workers in NEWLY created positions (those that increase the company’s headcount) within the company. Existing Industry (EI) training is for current, full-time, incumbent workers. Additionally, EI dollars provide assistance to established Colorado companies in order to remain competitive within their industry, adapt to new technology and prevent layoffs.
Arapahoe Community College’s (ACC) Workforce Training Program can provide information and application forms for Colorado First and Existing Industry Training Grant Program dollars. Colorado companies which meet certain baseline criteria are eligible. Applications are due July 7, and training must be completed by mid-December 2017.
